The legend of the Gold Redeemer began during the gold rush of 1849 in the California hills. It was said that hard working gold panners would dream of a gold redeemer who could take their useless dirt and redeem the gold out of it.
The Gold Redeemer would place the miner’s dirt into a goblet and surround it with fire. The fire would apparently burn away the worthless dirt and bring out the full value, in order words, redeem the gold. When the fire was removed the goblet contained pure gold dust.
The story of the Gold Redeemer is just a dream but it is possible to be a redeemer to someone else. We redeem when we share a word of encouragement with others, we bring out their full value.
