We're often asked about "good" scissors for cutting ropes. We finally decided to offer our own personal favorite pair to the public. These are "cheap" scissors made in China. You would never think they would be this good but we have used them for years in our own workshop and office and we just don't know of a better pair.
You can pay a lot more for scissors and sure, they may be longer, 100% stainless steel, etc. but we'll put these scissors up against just about any others on the market. We use them for cutting everything! And they never seem to lose their sharp edge. They always cut through rope with extreme ease.
