It sold like hot cakes. The effect is a classic. Borrow a bill from a spectator. Take your pen and push the point right through the center of the bill. They actually hear the bill being punctured! Now, rip the pen away from the bill. They actually hear the bill tearing. The bill is now slowly and fairly restored and handed back to the spectator. It looks so amazing!! If you like, the pen can penetrate a borrowed coin! There are no sleights required and everything may be examined.
Three years later, John created the Perfect Pen! It will do everything that the original did, but with many added features. Only one pen is used. The spectator can write with the pen. The pen is refillable. The spectator actually sees the ripped pieces of bill when the pen is pushed through the bill. The pen is precision made, it is a very attractive chrome with gold plating. Nothing is added or taken away in order to achieve the illusion and the pen is totally examinable before and after the effect!
