A spectator is given a small pocket diary and asked to find their birth date. Next to every date is printed the name of a card. Flipping the diary he can plainly see the dates. The spectator is now asked to remember the name of the card next to their birthday. The magician now introduces a red back deck of Bicycle Cards. The spectator for the first time names their birthday card. You now remove this card.
As unbelievable as it seems, this card has a blue back. All the rest have red backs. This card is removed and placed on top of the deck. The magician now boldly states that he knows that this was their lucky birthday card from the very beginning. The Climax blows them away! The deck now plays the "Happy Birthday" tune.
