Blizzard (bliz' ard) noun - A very heavy snowstorm with high winds causing a white out effect. We are pleased to present one of the most unbelievable card tricks of all time. This is an effect that has devastated some of the greatest minds in magic including: Dai Vernon, Michael Weber, Mac King, Larry Jennings, Rudy Coby, Don Wayne, Bill Goodwin, Paul Green, Mike Caveney, Paul Harris, and many, many more.
Here is the effect as the spectators see it. The magician asks the spectator to clear his mind of all thoughts in order to make his mind a blank slate. You then request that the spectator bring back only one thought in his mind... the name of one playing card. The spectator has an absolutely free choice... let's say they select the seven of hearts. You ask the spectator to name the card that he has thought of. You advise the spectator that you will not only remove his seven of hearts but the other three sevens as well. You place the deck face down on the table as you request the spectator to take the four of a kind that you have removed and point to the card that they feel is theirs without looking at the faces.
You immediately show that the other three cards are blank. You then turn over the top two cards of the deck, showing that the "jokers" are blank. Then you turn over the next four cards, showing the "aces" to be blank. You then toss out the remaining cards, face up, in a flurry of all blank cards... a virtual blizzard of white face cards. Only one card remains face down... they are asked to turn it over to reveal the one card that they freely named. It is the seven of hearts in our example. The remaining cards lay scattered over the table, creating a blizzard of white blank face cards, of which everything can be freely examined. Your audience will be devastated.
