Giant 3 Card Monte Plus

This is a super size version of the 3 Card Monte effect, with a twist in the presentation that adds a punch to the routine, and will appeal to any type of audience.

The magician displays three Giant size cards fanned backs facing audience, stating he is going to perform the classic 3 Card Monte or Find The Queen effect, using super size cards. The size of the cards will ensure the performer can not use any sleight-of-hand normally associated with this scam.

The magi says that the normal cards used for this are not really fair to the audience. There are two odd cards, and only one Queen, so that the odds are loaded two to one against spectator. His chances of finding the Queen are only one in three. As you are a magician and a gentleman, you will reverse the odds and use two Queens and one ordinary card for the routine. That should make the Queen twice as easy to find.

As you say this you turn the fan of cards to face the audience. They are the two red Queens and an odd black spot card. This will ensure that the spectators have a two in three chance of being right. The three-fanned cards are closed in a stack, turned backs toward audience and mixed. Then they are placed backs up on the table. Or if you wish you can perform this on a stage, placing the cards upright (backs facing audience) on an improvised stand.

A spectator is asked to "find the Queen". The card he points to is turned around and is seen to be the indifferent spot card. This can be repeated a couple of times if you wish, by again mixing the cards and laying them out again and asking the spectator to pick a card. The Spectator will always get the spot card.

The performer now states he will go one step further. He will give the spectator not one but two opportunities to "find the Queen ." The cards are now mixed and laid out, and the spectator asked to point to a card. It is a spot card. He is asked to point to a second card, and this is turned around. It is also a spot card Finally the third face down card is turned around and it is yet another spot card. The two Queens have vanished without a trace. You tell the spectators that they should never gamble with a magician because he has more than a trick or two up his sleeve.

Very easy to do.
