This is exactly what happens:
Any spectator is asked to think of any card.
They write the name and suit of the card on any piece of paper.
They fold the paper and hold onto it.
Without any questions, you remove one card from a regular deck.
You place the card face down onto the spectator's hand.
The spectator unfolds the paper. The spectator turns the card over. The name of the card on the paper and the card you removed from the deck are absolutely identical!
