Variation on the magic "pea can." Show a small plastic container with a lid, empty the contents into the spectator's hand and show that it is a clear plastic bead, which you call and "ice crystal." Spectator returns the bead to the tube and after you say the magic word, the tube is emptied into the spectator's hand again...revealing nothing but water. The ice crystal has melted! Easy to do. Perfect for all ages.
